Volunteer Guides
Since its foundation, the Friends of the Montréal Botanical Garden have always been able to count on the dedication of their members to support the Montréal Botanical Garden and the Institut de recherche en biologie végétale (IRBV) in various projects.
We are not currently recruiting guides, as a new cohort is currently being selected. Stay tuned to our social networks to be informed of our next call for applications.
Biodiversity Centre
Entomological collection
The Ouellet-Robert Entomological Collection at the Université de Montréal contains approximately one and a half million specimens. It is one of the leading university entomological collections in Canada and the second largest in Quebec. It is open to visitors, professionals and entomology enthusiasts on weekdays. Visits and consultations of the collection are by appointment with the coordinator.
Marie-Victorin Herbarium
The herbarium is open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Visitors must make an appointment with the curators to view the collections. Group visits are limited and by appointment only. For school groups, visits must be linked to specific educational objectives.
Guided tours of the Marie-Victorin Herbarium and the Biodiversity Centre are offered every Wednesday at 1:30 pm. From November 1 to May 14, the meeting point is in the Molson greenhouse, near the Visitor Centre (except during the Christmas holidays). From May 15 to October 31, the meeting point is outside, in front of the Friends of the Botanical Garden kiosk, near the ticket office and the information desk.
