Share The Friends of the Montreal Botanical Garden are seeking an Accounting and Administrative Support Officer for a part-time position (approximately 14 hours per week). To be an Accounting and Administrative Support Officer at the Friends is… Working within a dynamic and passionate team; Contributing to the outreach and support of the Friends' mission; Initiating and coordinating innovative projects; Enjoying access to spaces and events at the Botanical Garden and Espace pour la vie museums; Indulging in lemon cakes often, and brownies occasionally. Under the supervision of the General Manager, and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the position holder: Performs the complete monthly bookkeeping cycle (SAGE); Assists in cash management; Manages accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections; Reconciles monthly revenues from the CRM in place (EUDONET) and the cash register; Manages and prepares payables; Matches invoices and checks before signature and approval; Manages compliance of subcontractors/suppliers – regarding validity of GST and QST; Verifies authorized signatures and/or requests approval; Codes and enters invoices; Conducts general ledger account analyses, bank reconciliations; Ensures the application of defined controls – e.g., GST-QST; Responds to internal client and partner requests; Participates in improving existing processes and procedures; Processes payroll in Employeur D, following employee account validation by management; Accounting processing of payroll reports from Employeur D; Various related tasks related to the accounting cycle; Various reports required for analysis; Performs any other related tasks related to the position. Qualifications and Requirements: Technical College Diploma or equivalent in accounting; 10 years of experience in a similar position; Proficiency in computer skills; MS Office; Mastery of the complete payroll cycle; Knowledge of SAGE software, and CRM; Experience in the nonprofit sector.
